Back on the breast milk.
It's an important subject because we are what we are today because of the way we were fed as babies.
Many things.
We can't change what happened to us as babies, but I'm inquisitive.
I want to know why.
So what is the best milk for babies?
It is breast milk.
Breast milk is the best for babies for a few reasons.
It's perfectly designed for baby.
In fact, the breast milk at one month is perfect for baby.
The breast milk at six months, perfect for baby.
The breast milk at nine months, perfect for baby.
The breast milk at 12 months, perfect for baby.
But some mothers say to me that they were told that breast milk doesn't have enough iron in it in the second six months.
The second six months, the breast milk doesn't have as much iron as in the first six months.
That is true.
Just God made a mistake.
God never makes mistakes.
So why?
Why is breast milk in the second six months not as rich in iron as it is in the first six months?
There is a reason.
Notice how quickly a baby grows in that first six months.
They literally explode in growth compared to the way the baby grows in the second six months.
And so common sense tells us that the baby's requirements for iron are higher in the first six months than the second six months, because it's not good to give the baby food yet.
Babies should not have food until they can sit upright, that's about seven months, feed themselves, putting things in their mouth, maybe about five months, and have teeth.
Teeth.
The first teeth that appear are milk teeth.
You know what that means?
That's all babies should have.
Milk.
And they're four at the top, four at the bottom.
They're probably fully through by maybe 12, 13 months.
Then the next teeth are the molars.
They come through back here.
Now those first teeth, that's a good time for baby to start having little tastes.
Give them a piece of cucumber or a piece of apple or a piece of banana or a piece of celery.
Just let them have little tastes, little chews.
And what that does is that strengthens the jaw and encourages chewing.
Another reason why breast milk is so important is the baby has to work hard to get that milk.
So their tongue and their jaw, it's working hard, and that's very important for the proper development of their jaws, for also the roof of the mouth, for in preparation for teeth.
But what if a baby cannot have the breast milk?
And that is rare, and for various reasons that might be so.
Yes, there is goat's milk.
A lot of babies have been given goat's milk over the last few centuries.
There's also some nut milks and pea milks that many health food shops now.
These milks have been specially formulated for baby.
But there's also a milk, it's called the vegetarian's milk.
And that's 80% carrot juice, 10% celery juice and 10% apple juice.
It's called the vegetarian's milk because it is a beautiful selection of nutrients that the body needs.
And I have met two mothers whose babies could not have breast milk, could not have any milk because of a serious skin condition.
So the naturopath advised they give the baby
the carrot-sourine apple juice and those babies thrived on the carrot-sourine apple juice.
