Thousands of people gathered in Israel's capital Tel Aviv and cities across Israel to call out the government's plans to take control of Gaza City, for them to organise a ceasefire as well as calling for peace. It comes as the Israeli government demands the release of all 50 hostages held in Gaza, casting doubt on whether it will accept a new proposal for a 60-day ceasefire that Hamas agreed to last week. Palestinian sources said the proposal would see 10 living and 18 dead hostages handed over while the sides negotiated a permanent ceasefire and the return of the other hostages.
