My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you want to know the heart of a man, if you truly want to see the soul beneath the smile, pay attention not to the noise of their words, but to three simple things.

These three things reveal what lies beneath the surface, what is hidden from the eyes but seen by heaven.

As Padre Pio once said, the Lord is served only when he is served as he wishes.

And in the same way, we understand a soul only when we look at what God looks at.

The first thing to watch is how someone treats the weak, not the powerful, not those who can benefit them, but the weak, the ones who have nothing to give in return.

Jesus told us, whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me, Matthew 25, 40.

A person's character is not shown in the presence of kings, but in how they treat the beggar, the child, the stranger, the one who cannot repay.

Observe closely.

Are they patient?

Are they gentle?

Are they kind without expecting praise?

This is the first sign of a soul close to God.

The second thing is how someone responds to adversity.

Do they curse when storms come?

Or do they pray?

Do they fall apart when trials hit?

Or do they fall to their knees?

Padre Pio bore suffering with silence and humility.

He said, pray, hope, and don't worry.

Worry is useless.

God is merciful and will hear your prayer.

When pressure comes, when the fire is hot, the mask melts away and the truth remains.

A faithful soul is forged in the furnace of affliction.

If someone turns to God in hardship, if they remain calm and rooted in faith, then you are looking at a soul molded by grace.

The third and final thing is what someone does when no one is watching.

This, this is the greatest test of all.

What do they do when there's no applause, no eyes, no crowd, in secret, in silence, in solitude?

Do they still choose righteousness?

Jesus said, your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6, 6.

God sees the prayers whispered in the dark, the kindness done in private, the temptations resisted alone.

The true character of a soul is revealed in the silence of their choices when only heaven is watching.

And now I invite you, walk with God, love with humility, and judge not with your lips, but with prayer and discernment.
