Well, hi and welcome to Wednesdays with Bob number nine.

Not sure what I'm gonna do when I get to number 11.

I might have to put numbers on little cards or something like that because I'm gonna run out of fingers, but this is number nine.

I hope you guys are all having a good day.

When I say you guys, it does mean guys and girls.

In English, sometimes when we use the word guys, we actually mean guys and girls.

I probably shouldn't use it.

Sometimes I use the word folks instead.

So hi folks, I hope things are going well in your life right now.

For me, I am super excited.

Oh, I'm supposed to tell you, even though this isn't an English lesson, if you need word for word English subtitles, they are down there and you can turn them on.

But what I was going to talk about today is the fact that it is summer.

So in a number of ways, it is summer for me because today is my last day of work.

I need to go this evening to, we are having a graduation for our grade 12s, but we are doing it as a drive-through.

So all the teachers are going to stand in the parking lot

and the teacher, or sorry, the students are going to come with their families and they're gonna drive through in their vehicles and we can wave to them from a safe distance.

It's not an exciting way to do a graduation, but it is something and we're happy that for the students who are graduating,

we can do something for them to commemorate the fact that they are done high school.

So that's this evening.

That's the last thing I need to do for work.

As a teacher, I'm super excited because every year I get the summer off.

I know other people in other jobs sometimes are annoyed because teachers get the whole summer off.

And I always encourage them to become teachers then.

I usually say, yeah, it is awesome having the summer off.

You should become a teacher.

It's great.

But truth be told, most teachers I know spend the summer honing their craft.

So some teachers take courses.

This summer, there aren't a lot of courses because of COVID.

Teachers read a lot in the summer.

My plan is to read a ton of books this summer.

Teachers generally take about two weeks off as they deserve.

I think and then they spend the rest of the summer kind of learning new things reading up on things online reading books and getting ready for the fall so it seems like two months off and it kind of really is two months off but it is time that we spend refreshing our minds because you know if you are someone who lays bricks you need strong muscles if you are a teacher you need a really good brain so it's good to rest our brains for the summer and it's good to just

practice a few things and learn a few new things.

As well, it is actually summer.

So a couple of days ago, it was the first day of summer.

We got some nice rain last night.

So that was really, really nice because that helps the plants grow.

So I am just ready to have an awesome summer, but I'd love to hear from you.

Let me know in the comments what you do in the summer.

I know many things are not possible due to COVID, but leave a comment and tell me what you're doing this summer.

Have a good day.
