Wife wakes from coma to find ‘soulmate’ gone after car crash

Waking from a three day coma, bruised and broken, Annette Harvey turned to her daughter and asked, why hasn't dad been here yet?

The 75 year old remembered the sickening moment their car was hit, then nothing.

She didn't know yet that her husband of 60 years, Richard Harvey, had died.

The couple were heading home to their retirement village near Virginia when police allege a 41-year-old woman who had been driving dangerously collided with their car in Cutler.

Richard was rushed to Lyall McEwen Hospital with serious injuries and tragically he died.

Meanwhile, Annette was taken to the RA with devastating injuries.

Doctors warned that she might not survive, but she defied the odds.

Her daughter Kathleen said,

The couple had been inseparable since Annette and Richard were teenagers.

Richard is being remembered as a great dad, often quiet and stoic on the outside, but full of love, with a big heart who always showed up when it mattered the most.
