Gor is a 1987 science fiction and fantasy film based loosely on the 1966 novel Tarnsman of Gor, written by philosophy professor and author John Frederick Lange Jr. under his pen name John Norman. American professor Tarl Cabot is transported via a magical ring to planet Gor, where he must help an oppressed country overthrow its evil king and his barbarian henchmen.
