I'm stuck in Goa and can't leave. India.

Today I set out to find sea eagles that can be spotted in the mangroves or backwaters of Palolem, Goa. I start my day on the beach where local villagers sort through the morning’s catch. One man kindly explains the types of seafood and their quantities, while women carry baskets of fish into town to sell on the roadside. I then meet two men hauling a small traditional canoe onto the sand; the boat is carved from a single piece of wood, the trunk of a mango tree, which takes four or five days to shape. A local named Babus offers me a boat to hunt for sea eagles, and after some negotiation I join a young couple aboard. We head into the water, getting to know the boatmen and each other. On my return walk along the beach I chat with a young makeup artist visiting Palolem for a week, then head to the local expat hangout where I often spend time. I’ve been in Palolem longer than I expected and find it hard to leave. The place ticks all the boxes for long‑term travelers, especially the friendly local expats who live here year round. I’m stuck in Palolem for all the right reasons.
