Common Side Effects follows former school‑lab colleagues Marshal (Dave King) and Francis (Emily Pendergast) as they unravel a conspiracy involving a pharmaceutical giant and the federal government to hide knowledge of a rare mushroom that could hold the key to curing all diseases worldwide. The animated series is created by directors Joseph Bennett, known for "Scavengers Reign", and Steve Helie, a comedy writer for "David Letterman", "Veep", and "American Dad!", with the script written by Bennett, Helie, Shaun Buckley and Dave King, and episodes directed by Buckley and Bennett. Production is handled by Bandera Entertainment and Green Street Pictures, with animation by Le Cube. Adult Swim will debut the series, which will air on Max and Adult Swim starting February 2, 2025.
