Before this level starts, you quickly learn how to use Axel's Stomp, allowing you to jump off enemies and keep moving. Axel travels through the forest to hunt down a witch that Igusa has heard about. He finds the witch, but falls through a leaf‑covered trapdoor; even if you try to jump over it, the witch blocks you with her magic. You then have two further encounters with the witch, named Fey‑Nix of the Nix Clan. The first is a dodgeball‑style battle where you shoot her energy balls back at her, and the second is a more direct fight. The S+ record for Forest of Mòrag as Axel requires beating the stage in under 2:00 with a highest combo of 40 hits or more, and the S+ record for the final fight against Fey‑Nix requires under 1:00 with at least a 10‑hit highest combo. After defeating Fey, she drops a Comet Shard and warns Axel to watch his back, hinting at a deeper conflict involving Lagos Hyperbolics and the Nix Clan.
