Dead Souls is an 8‑hour documentary by Wang Bing that chronicles the lives of more than 120 survivors of the anti‑rightist labor camps in China. Filmed between 2005 and 2017, the film follows the testimonies of those who were sent to the Jialangjigou labor camp in the Gobi desert, where they endured starvation, torture, and imprisonment.
