Nasa warns of huge solar flares causing blackouts on Earth

Astronomers warn of increased solar storms as a highly active sunspot region rotates toward Earth. NASA recorded 2025’s strongest solar flare so far—a X2.7-class eruption—that caused brief radio blackouts in the Middle East. More flares and coronal mass ejections from this region could disrupt radio signals, power grids, navigation systems, and pose risks to satellites and astronauts.
