A Sombre Morning Walk in a Cotswold Village | English Countryside

Today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village and civil parish of Coln St. Dennis. The village is situated on the River Coln in Gloucestershire, England. It is about 3 miles southwest of Northleach and about 7 miles northeast of Cirencester. The local parish also includes the village of Coln Rogers and the hamlets of Calcot, Fossebridge and Winson. The local parish church is dedicated to Saint James the Great. The church is of Norman origins. Over the centuries the church was assigned different names including St. Katherine, St. Dennis and possibly St. Kenelm. According to the 2011 census the parish total was 194.
