In the letter, Routh expressed despair, criticized his court‑appointed attorneys, and said he now wants to represent himself. He apologized for being a burden on the court and reflected on personal dignity and morality, Fox News has reported. Routh is charged in a Sept. 15 plot where he allegedly set up a sniper position near Trump’s Florida golf club before being confronted by Secret Service and fleeing.
