So, today we are out and about walking in the village of Stretton-on-Fosse which is nestled in between the towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Shipston-on-Stour in the Stratford District in Warwickshire but also very close to the Gloucestershire Border. According to the 2011 census there was a population of 439. The word Stretton is derived from the meaning "settlement on a Roman road" which in this case is the Fosse Way. The village house's a late 12th century church - St Peter, this is a grade II listed building. The village local pub is the Plough Inn which is of 17th century origins.
