Descripción:

Yury Dolgoruky is a new‑generation nuclear‑powered ballistic missile submarine built by Sevmash for the Russian Navy. As the lead vessel of the Project 955 Borei class, it was the first submarine launched by Russia after the Soviet era and now serves in the Pacific Fleet. The submarine carries 16 RSM‑56 Bulava SLBMs—an advanced, quasi‑ballistic missile with solid‑fuel first two stages and liquid‑fuel third stage, capable of penetrating missile‑defence systems. Each Bulava missile is 12.1 m long, 2.1 m in diameter, has an 8,000 km range, and can carry up to ten 100‑150 kt warheads.
